Mike McDermott is an electrical engineer at Delphi in Kokomo Indiana. He has 4 children and lives on a county road west of town. He is an active member of Bible Baptist Church. He learned how to juggle at work around 2002 and also learned how to uni about the same time. The Delphi jugglers meet for 1/2 hour each day to pass clubs, slack rope, unicycle, and anything else which is fun. Mike was amazed that he could even learn how to juggle 3 balls as he was never active in sports or anything like that. After learning juggling, he was challenged to learn uni and remembers countless laps around the executive garage at Delphi. Mike then began to wonder what other talents were given him by God that lay dormant. So he started singing in the church choir, although he never had any musical experience. Then he started performing in plays with his children. One day, he was riding his 20" uni for exercise and was passed by a female jogger. He realized he needed a larger wheel to go any faster. Soon after that Delphi actually gave him enough money to buy a coker just for flying overseas in coach instead of first class. That was 2003. For some reason, Mike had the dream of riding a uni in the hilly hundred, a bicycle ride in southern Indiana that he rode several times as a Jr. high and high school student. He realized that he wasn't ready for it and gave up the dream until he was invited to join this group. Mike's doing his best to train for this ride, and is trying not to be the one that slows the other riders down.
