Concentration: Distance/Cross Country and Trials
Joseph was first introduced to unicycling in September 2006 by his friend from high school, Devin, and quickly took to riding under further instruction from C.T. Within a month, he received his first unicycle, a Torker 26" LX as a birthday gift, immediately making his primitive, two-wheeled bicycle obsolete. Feeling left out as C.T. and Adam set out to conquer Hilly Hundred 2006 on their unicycles, Joseph found incentive to become
very familiar with his unicycle.
As winter approached, C.T. informed Joseph of RAGBRAI XXXV, a 477-mile bicycle tour across Iowa: the primary incentive for the purchase and mastery of a coker cycle. As a Christmas gift, Joseph received a Nimbus 36" Deluxe cycle
with T7 handles, a cycle to which he quickly adapted and enjoyed. The coker carried Joseph 350 miles through the bike tour, but not all the way; still,
with only 10 months of experience (at the time), everyone seemed impressed at the mere attempt.
His passion for unicycle touring only gets more intense with each event, and each tour only serves to drive further training and customization of his beloved unicycles. He's only just getting started.
